Honeysuckle is a common Chinese herbal medicine, which blooms in March. Its petals appear white at the beginning of the flower, but after 1-2 days, it gradually turns yellow, so it named honeysuckle. So how do we dry the honeysuckle after it's picked? What is the drying process of honeysuckle? Honeysuckle drying process in Western Flag:

Firstly, we should determine the scale of the drying room according to the production of honeysuckle, if the drying room is too large, the production of honeysuckle is small, then it will waste energy; and on the contrary, the drying room is too small, and the drying material is stacked high, it will affect the drying quality of honeysuckle.

Secondly, to make the high-quality of dried honeysuckle, we should be familiar with the drying process. The temperature of  Honeysuckle Drying Room can not be too high, otherwise the honeysuckle buds will become black with poor quality; But if the temperature is too low, the color will not bright with yellow and white color. The Western Flag drying room adopts hot air circulation to dry evenly, and the return air is designed in the middle of the drying roof. During the drying process, the temperature is kept no more than 60℃.

 

The drying is carried out in stages:

①We control the temperature at 30-35℃, drying time for 2 hours;

②Then keep the temperature about 40℃, after 5-10h;

③When the temperature rises to 45-50℃, maintain for 10h;

④When the temperature rises to 55-58 ° C, the drying time should not exceed 24 hours.

( P.S. If it is cloudy and rainy, it is necessary to dry honeysuckle at room temperature, first at 35℃-40℃ at room temperature for 2-3 hours, and then rise to 50℃ temperature to dry until 90% of water content. )
